ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ वर्द्धमाना गिरेः पुत्री सा शक्ति लोकपूजिता ॥ अष्टवर्षा यदा जाता हिमालयगृहे सती ॥१॥

Brahmā said: O Nārada, the daughter of the mountain, honoured in the three worlds, was brought up in the palace of Himācala.

english translation

brahmovAca ॥ varddhamAnA gireH putrI sA zakti lokapUjitA ॥ aSTavarSA yadA jAtA himAlayagRhe satI ॥1॥
