विष्णुरुवाच ॥ स्वागतं स्वागतं वत्स पितामह महाद्युते ॥ निर्भयो भव दास्येऽहं सर्वान्कामान्न संशयः ॥ २६ ॥
Viṣṇu said:—“Welcome, welcome to you, dear child, O Pitāmaha of great brilliance. Do not be afraid. Undoubtedly I shall confer on you all that you desire.
english translation
viSNuruvAca ॥ svAgataM svAgataM vatsa pitAmaha mahAdyute ॥ nirbhayo bhava dAsye'haM sarvAnkAmAnna saMzayaH ॥ 26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा स्मितपूर्वं सुरर्षभः ॥ रजसा बद्धवैरश्च तमवोचं जनार्दनम् ॥ २७ ॥
O foremost among gods, on hearing these words uttered with a smile I told Viṣṇu with my inimical attitude roused by the Rajoguṇa.
english translation
tasya tadvacanaM zrutvA smitapUrvaM surarSabhaH ॥ rajasA baddhavairazca tamavocaM janArdanam ॥ 27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मोवाच ॥ भाषसे वत्स वत्सेति सर्वसंहारकारणम् ॥ मामिहाति स्मितं कृत्वा गुरुश्शिष्यमिवानघ ॥ २८ ॥
Brahmā said: “O faultless one, how is it that you speak of me trivially as “Dear child”, me who am the cause of annihilation of everything, as a preceptor addresses his disciple?
english translation
brahmovAca ॥ bhASase vatsa vatseti sarvasaMhArakAraNam ॥ mAmihAti smitaM kRtvA guruzziSyamivAnagha ॥ 28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकर्तारं जगतां साक्षात्प्रकृतेश्च प्रवर्तकम् ॥ सनातनमजं विष्णुं विरिंचिं विष्णुसंभवम् ॥ २९ ॥
He (Vishnu) is the direct creator of the worlds and the activator of Prakriti (Nature). He is eternal, unborn (aja), and both Vishnu and Brahma originate from him.
english translation
kartAraM jagatAM sAkSAtprakRtezca pravartakam ॥ sanAtanamajaM viSNuM viriMciM viSNusaMbhavam ॥ 29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविश्वात्मानं विधातारं धातारम्पंकजेक्षणम् ॥ किमर्थं भाषसे मोहाद्वक्तुमर्हसि सत्वरम् ॥ 2-1-7-३० ॥
Why do you, out of delusion, speak thus — about the Supreme Soul, the Creator, the Sustainer, the Lotus-eyed One? You ought to speak (or act) swiftly and appropriately.

vizvAtmAnaM vidhAtAraM dhAtArampaMkajekSaNam ॥ kimarthaM bhASase mohAdvaktumarhasi satvaram ॥ 2-1-7-30 ॥
