ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ सुप्ते नारायणे देवे नाभौ पंकजमुत्तमम् ॥ आविर्बभूव सहसा बहव संकरेच्छया ॥१॥
Brahmā said: When lord Nārāyaṇa continued to sleep, an excellent lotus of huge size came out of his navel as desired by Śiva.
english translation
अनंतयष्टिकायुक्तं कर्णिकारसमप्रभम् ॥ अनंतयोजनायाममनंतोच्छ्रायसंयुतम्॥२॥
It was many Yojanas wide and high. It had an endless stalk. The pericarp was of a brilliant hue.

कोटिसूर्यप्रतीकाशं सुंदर वचxसंयुतम् ॥ अत्यद्भुतं महारम्यं दर्शनीयमनुत्तमम् ॥ ३ ॥
It was very beautiful with the brilliance of ten million suns. It was wonderful, excellent and worthy of vision containing Tattvas.
english translation
कृत्वा यत्नं पूर्ववत्स शंकरः परमेश्वरः ॥ दक्षिणांगान्निजान्मां कैसाशीxश्शंभुरजीजनत् ॥ ४ ॥
Exerting himself as before, Śiva, the great lord, with Pārvatī as his better half created me from His right limb.
english translation
स मायामोहितं कृत्वा मां महेशो द्रुतं मुने ॥ तन्नाभिपंकजादाविर्भावयामास लीलया ॥ ९ ॥
O sage, having deluded me with His illusion immediately, Śiva in the course of His sport, produced me through the umbilical lotus of Viṣṇu.
