गीतिस्त्वं सामवेदस्य ग्रन्थिस्त्वं यजुषां हुतिः ॥ ऋग्वेदस्य तथा मात्राथर्वणस्य परा गतिः ॥ ३५ ॥

sanskrit

Of the Ṛgveda you are the invocation; of the Yajurveda you are the blending knot of the mantras; of Sāmaveda you are the song and of the Atharvaṇa Veda you are the measure of time, you are the final goal.

english translation

gItistvaM sAmavedasya granthistvaM yajuSAM hutiH ॥ Rgvedasya tathA mAtrAtharvaNasya parA gatiH ॥ 35 ॥
