तमाशु देवं प्रियया विहीनं च दुरुक्तिभिः ॥ क्षमापयध्वं हृद्विद्धं दक्षेण सुदुरात्मना ॥ १६ ॥
That lord has been wounded in the heart by the wicked Dakṣa by harsh words. Crave the forgiveness of that lord who has lost his beloved now.
english translation
tamAzu devaM priyayA vihInaM ca duruktibhiH ॥ kSamApayadhvaM hRdviddhaM dakSeNa sudurAtmanA ॥ 16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअयमेव महोपायस्तच्छांत्यै केवलं विधे ॥ शंभोस्संतुष्टये मन्ये सत्यमेवोदितं मया ॥ १७ ॥
O Brahman, this is the only remedy for tranquilising him, I think and also for pleasing him. I have mentioned that truth.
english translation
ayameva mahopAyastacchAMtyai kevalaM vidhe ॥ zaMbhossaMtuSTaye manye satyamevoditaM mayA ॥ 17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनाहं न त्वं सुराश्चान्ये मुनयोपि तनूभृतः ॥ यस्य तत्त्वं प्रमाणं च न विदुर्बलवीर्ययोः ॥ १८ ॥
Neither I nor you, nor the gods, nor the sages, nor any embodied being knows the reality and the extent of his strength and power.
english translation
nAhaM na tvaM surAzcAnye munayopi tanUbhRtaH ॥ yasya tattvaM pramANaM ca na vidurbalavIryayoH ॥ 18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआत्मतंत्रस्य तस्यापि परस्य परमात्मनः ॥ क उपायं विधित्सेद्वै परं मूढं विरोधिनम् ॥ १९ ॥
Who else can lay down a remedy for Śiva who is independent and the greatest self—a remedy that quells delusion?
english translation
AtmataMtrasya tasyApi parasya paramAtmanaH ॥ ka upAyaM vidhitsedvai paraM mUDhaM virodhinam ॥ 19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचलिष्येहमपि ब्रह्मन् सर्वैः सार्द्ध शिवालयम् ॥ क्षमापयामि गिरिशं कृतागाश्च शिवे धुवम् ॥ 2-2-40-२० ॥
I too have offended Śiva. I shall also come, O Brahmā, to Śiva’s abode along with you all and crave the forgiveness of Śiva.

caliSyehamapi brahman sarvaiH sArddha zivAlayam ॥ kSamApayAmi girizaM kRtAgAzca zive dhuvam ॥ 2-2-40-20 ॥
