अस्यानन्दवनं नाम पुराकारि पिनाकिना ।। क्षेत्रस्यानंदहेतुत्वादविमुक्तमनंतरम्।।३१।।

Since the holy centre is the cause of Bliss, the Pināka-bearing lord (Śiva) called it “the blissful forest” and later “Avimukta”.

अथानन्दवने तस्मिञ्च्छिवयो रममाणयोः।। इच्छेत्यभूत्सुरर्षे हि सृज्यः कोप्यपरः किल ।। ३२ ।।

O celestial sage, the blissful, two deities thus sporting in the forest wished, it is said, for another Being to be created.

athAnandavane tasmiJcchivayo ramamANayoH|| icchetyabhUtsurarSe hi sRjyaH kopyaparaH kila || 32 ||

यस्मिन्यस्य महाभारमावां स्वस्वैरचारिणौ ।। निर्वाणधारणं कुर्वः केवलं काशिशायिनौ ।।३३।।

Śiva thought within Himself like this—“Another being shall be created by me. Let him create everything, protect it and in the end let him dissolve it with my blessing. Having entrusted everything to him we two, remaining in Kāśī shall roam as we please keeping only the prerogative of conferring salvation.

yasminyasya mahAbhAramAvAM svasvairacAriNau || nirvANadhAraNaM kurvaH kevalaM kAzizAyinau ||33||

स एव सर्वं कुरुतां स एव परिपातु च ।। स एव संवृणोत्वं ते मदनुग्रहतस्सदा ।।३४।।

He alone is the one who performs all actions, He alone is the one who protects all; He alone, by His eternal grace, encompasses all your beings.

sa eva sarvaM kurutAM sa eva paripAtu ca || sa eva saMvRNotvaM te madanugrahatassadA ||34||

चेतस्समुद्रमाकुंच्य चिंताकल्लोललोलितम् ।। सत्त्वरत्नं तमोग्राहं रजोविद्रुमवल्लितम् ।।३५।।

Concentrating the mind like the ocean, It agitates with waves of thoughts. The mind, filled with the jewel of goodness, And surrounded by the grasp of darkness and the redness of passion.
