ऋषय ऊचुः ॥ देवदेव रमानाथ सर्वेश्वर महाप्रभो ॥ रक्ष यज्ञं हि दक्षस्य यज्ञोसि त्वं न संशयः ॥ ४१ ॥
The sages said: O Lord of the gods, beloved of Lakshmi, Supreme Lord, Great Master! Please protect Daksha's yajna (sacrifice) — for you yourself are the very essence of yajna, there is no doubt about it.
english translation
यज्ञकर्मा यज्ञरूपो यज्ञांगो यज्ञरक्षकः ॥ रक्ष यज्ञमतो रक्ष त्वत्तोन्यो न हि रक्षकः ॥ ४२ ॥
You are the performer of the sacrifice (yajña-karma), the very embodiment of the sacrifice (yajña-rūpa), its limbs (yajña-aṅga), and its protector (yajña-rakṣakaḥ). Therefore, protect this yajña! There is truly no other protector but you.
english translation
॥ ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्याकर्ण्य वचस्तेषामृषीणां वचनं हरिः ॥ योद्धुकामो भयाद्विष्णुर्वीरभद्रेण तेन वै ॥ ४३ ॥
Brahmā said: On hearing these words of the sages Viṣṇu, desirous of fighting with Vīrabhadra went ahead.
english translation
चतुर्भुजस्सुसनद्धो चक्रायुधधरः करैः ॥ महाबलोमरगणैर्यज्ञवाटात्स निर्ययौ ॥४४॥
The powerful Viṣṇu, the four-armed discus-bearing Viṣṇu, fully equipped, came out of the sacrificial chamber along with the devas.
english translation
वीरभद्रः शूलपाणिर्नानागणसमन्वितः ॥ ददर्श विष्णुं संनद्धं योद्धुकामं महाप्रभुम्॥॥ ४५ ॥
The trident-wielding Vīrabhadra accompanied by the different Gaṇas saw Viṣṇu the great lord desirous of fighting and ready for it.
