एते रुद्रसहायाश्च गणाः परमकोपनाः ॥ आगता यज्ञविघ्नार्थं तं करिष्यंत्यसंशयम ॥ ३१ ॥

These infuriated assistants of Rudra have come here to stop the sacrifice and they will do it undoubtedly.

सर्वथा न ह्युपायोत्र केषांचिदपि तत्त्वतः ॥ यज्ञविघ्नविनाशार्थ सत्यं सत्यं ब्रवीम्यहम् ॥३२॥

There is no remedy to prevent the destruction of the sacrifice. True, I am telling you the truth.

ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ एवं बृहस्पतेर्वाक्यं श्रुत्वा ते हि दिवौकसः ॥ चिंतामापेदिरे सर्वे लोकपालास्सवासवाः ॥ ३३ ॥

Brahmā said: On hearing these words of Bṛhaspati the guardians of the quarters, dwellers in heaven including Indra fell athinking.

Then, remembering Śiva mentally Vīrabhadra surrounded by the heroic attendants of Śiva spoke to Indra and other guardians of the quarters.

वीरभद्र उवाच ॥ सर्वे यूयं बालिशत्वादवदानार्थमागताः ॥। अवदानं प्रयच्छामि आगच्छत ममांतिकम् ॥३५॥

Vīrabhadra said: On account of your childishness you came here for this glorious act. I shall now offer you Avadāna (i.e. I shall cut you to pieces). Come near me.
