॥ दक्ष उवाच ॥ गतः शिवप्रियो विप्रो दधीचो नाम नामतः ॥ अन्ये तथाविधा ये च गतास्ते मम चाध्वरात् ॥ ५१ ॥
Dakṣa said: Gone is that brahmin favourite of Śiva named Dadhīci and others too of his ilk have gone out of my sacrifice.
english translation
एतच्छुभतरं जातं संमतं मे हि सर्वथा ॥ सत्यं ब्रवीमि देवेश सुराश्च मुनयस्तथा ॥ ५२ ॥
This has become good. I approve of this always. O Indra, devas and sages, I am telling you the truth.
english translation
विनष्टचित्ता मंदाश्च मिथ्यावादरताः खलाः ॥ वेदबाह्या दुराचारास्त्याज्यास्ते मखकर्मणि॥५३॥
They are slow-witted and senseless. They are rogues indulging in false deliberations and discussions. They are out of the Vedic circle. These men of evil conduct shall be eschewed from sacrificial rites.
english translation
वेदवादरता यूयं सर्वे विष्णुपुरोगमाः ॥ यज्ञं मे सफलं विप्रास्सुराः कुर्वंतु माऽचिरम् ॥ ५४ ॥
You all, brahmins, sages and devas with Viṣṇu at the head shall make my sacrifice fruitful.
english translation
॥ ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्याकर्ण्य वचस्तस्य शिवमायाविमोहिताः ॥ यन्मखे देवयजनं चक्रुस्सर्वे सुरर्षयः ॥ ५५ ॥
Brahmā said: On hearing these words, the celestial sages deluded by Śiva’s Māyā performed the worship of the deities in that sacrifice.
