भक्तहेतोरहं देवि रावणं सगणं क्रुधा ।। त्यजति स्म कृतो नैव पक्षपातो हि तस्य वै।।४४।।

sanskrit

I was not a party to the evil actions of Rāvaṇa (though he was my devotee). For the sake of another devotee I discarded Rāvaṇa with all his followers.

english translation

bhaktahetorahaM devi rAvaNaM sagaNaM krudhA || tyajati sma kRto naiva pakSapAto hi tasya vai||44||
