पापमूलानि दुःखानि विविधान्यपि तान्यतः ।। शिवार्चनैकनश्यानि नान्य नश्यानि सर्वथा ।। ४६ ।।

The different kinds of miseries arising from sins shall be destroyed only through the worship of Śiva, and not through other means.

english translation

pApamUlAni duHkhAni vividhAnyapi tAnyataH || zivArcanaikanazyAni nAnya nazyAni sarvathA || 46 ||

स वैदिकस्य पुण्यात्मा स धन्यस्स बुधो मुने ।। यस्सदा कायवाक्चित्तैश्शरणं याति शंकरम् ।। ४७ ।।

sanskrit

He who always seeks refuge in Śiva, O sage, is the real follower of the Vedas, a meritorious soul and a blessed scholar. He must resort to Him by means of his body, speech and mind for ever.

sa vaidikasya puNyAtmA sa dhanyassa budho mune || yassadA kAyavAkcittaizzaraNaM yAti zaMkaram || 47 ||

O great sage, there are not so many sins in the world as the worship of Śiva is capable of destroying.

Innumerable heaps of sins like that of the slaughter of a brahmin perish by remembering Śiva. Truth, I am telling you the truth.
