ततो मां पितरं प्राह दक्षः प्रीत्या हि मत्सुतः ॥ प्रणिपत्य त्वया कर्म कार्यं वैवाहिकं विभो ॥ ३१ ॥
Then Dakṣa, my son, knelt before me, his father, with pleasure and said—“O lord, the marriage rites shall be performed by you.”
english translation
tato mAM pitaraM prAha dakSaH prItyA hi matsutaH ॥ praNipatya tvayA karma kAryaM vaivAhikaM vibho ॥ 31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptढमित्यहमप्युक्त्वा प्रहृष्टैनांतरात्मना ॥ समुत्थाय ततोऽकार्षं तत्कार्यमखिलं तथा ॥३२॥
Saying ‘Amen’ I got up with a delightful heart and performed the preliminary rites.
english translation
DhamityahamapyuktvA prahRSTainAMtarAtmanA ॥ samutthAya tato'kArSaM tatkAryamakhilaM tathA ॥32॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततश्शुभे मुहूर्ते हि लग्ने ग्रहबलान्विते ॥ सती निजसुतां दक्षो ददौ हर्षेण शंभवे ॥ ३३ ॥
Then in an auspicious conjunction of stars with the planets in a propitious position, Dakṣa joyfully gave his daughter Satī to Siva.
english translation
tatazzubhe muhUrte hi lagne grahabalAnvite ॥ satI nijasutAM dakSo dadau harSeNa zaMbhave ॥ 33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउद्वाहविधिना सोपि पाणिं जग्राह हर्षितः ॥ दाक्षायण्या वरतनोस्तदानीं वृषभध्वजः ॥ ३४ ॥
As a part of the rites of marriage the delighted Śiva grasped the hand of Satī of comely appearance.
english translation
udvAhavidhinA sopi pANiM jagrAha harSitaH ॥ dAkSAyaNyA varatanostadAnIM vRSabhadhvajaH ॥ 34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअहं हरिस्त्वदाद्या वै मुनयश्च सुरा गणाः ॥ नेमुस्सर्वे संस्तुतिभि स्तोषयामासुरीश्वरम् ॥ ३५ ॥
We all, Viṣṇu, I, you and other sages, bowed to Śiva and delighted Him with laudatory hymns.

ahaM haristvadAdyA vai munayazca surA gaNAH ॥ nemussarve saMstutibhi stoSayAmAsurIzvaram ॥ 35 ॥
