इत्युक्त्वा सुचिरं तां वै स्थित्वा दक्षालये पुनः॥ विसृष्टौ तेन संयातौ स्वस्थानं तौ च नारद ॥६॥
O Nārada, after saying this to Satī we stayed in Dakṣa’s abode for a long time. We were bidden farewell by him and we went to our respective places.

दक्षोभवच्च सुप्रीतः तदाकर्ण्य गतज्वरः ॥ आददे तनयां स्वां तां मत्वा हि परमेश्वरीम्॥७॥
On hearing that, Dakṣa became delighted and free from all worries. Thinking that she was a great Goddess, he took her with him.

इत्थं विहारै रुचिरैः कौमारैर्भक्तवत्सला ॥ जहाववस्थां कौमारीं स्वेच्छाधृतनराकृतिः ॥८॥
Thus with various charming girlish sports the Goddess who is favourably disposed to her devotees and who had assumed human form out of her own will passed the state of girlhood.

बाल्यं व्यतीत्य सा प्राप किञ्चिद्यौवनतां सती ॥ अतीव तपसांगेन सर्वांगेषु मनोहरा ॥९॥
After passing her girlhood and reaching the state of early youth she attained beauty in every limb which blazed forth brilliantly.

दक्षस्तां वीक्ष्य लोकेशः प्रोद्भिन्नांतर्वयस्थिताम् ॥ चिंतयामास भर्गाय कथं दास्य इमां सुताम् ॥ 2-2-15-१ ०॥
Dakṣa, the lord of worlds, on seeing her blooming in the proper age thought within—“How shall I give my daughter to Śiva?”
