ददौ दश सुता दक्षो धर्माय विधिवन्मुने ॥ त्रयोदश कश्यपाय मुनये त्रिनवेंदवे ॥ ६ ॥
Dakṣa gave ten of his daughters duly in marriage to Dharma, thirteen to Kaśyapa the sage, and twenty seven to the moon.
english translation
dadau daza sutA dakSo dharmAya vidhivanmune ॥ trayodaza kazyapAya munaye trinaveMdave ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभूतांगिरः कृशाश्वेभ्यो द्वेद्वे पुत्री प्रदत्तवान् ॥ तार्क्ष्याय चापरः कन्या प्रसूतिप्रसवैर्यतः ॥७॥
Bhūtāṅgira gave two daughters each to Kṛśāśva and Bhūtāṅgiri, and another daughter to Tārkṣya, from whom were born various beings.
english translation
bhUtAMgiraH kRzAzvebhyo dvedve putrI pradattavAn ॥ tArkSyAya cAparaH kanyA prasUtiprasavairyataH ॥7॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्रिलोकाः पूरितास्तन्नो वर्ण्यते व्यासतो भयात् ॥ ८ ॥
The sons and grandsons and descendants of these filled the three worlds. A detailed narration is not attempted here.

trilokAH pUritAstanno varNyate vyAsato bhayAt ॥ 8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकेचिद्वदंति तां ज्येष्ठां मध्यमां चापरे शिवाम् ॥ सर्वानन्तरजां केचित्कल्पभेदात्त्रयं च सत ॥९॥
Some say that Śivā was the eldest of his daughters, some say that she was the middle and some say that she was the youngest. All the three opinions are correct in different Kalpas.

kecidvadaMti tAM jyeSThAM madhyamAM cApare zivAm ॥ sarvAnantarajAM kecitkalpabhedAttrayaM ca sata ॥9॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनंतरं सुतोत्पत्तेः सपत्नीकः प्रजापतिः ॥ दक्षो दधौ सुप्रीत्मा तां मनसा जगदम्बिकाम् ॥2-2-14-१०॥
After the birth of his daughter, Dakṣa Prajāpati and his wife meditated on the mother of the universe with pleasure.

anaMtaraM sutotpatteH sapatnIkaH prajApatiH ॥ dakSo dadhau suprItmA tAM manasA jagadambikAm ॥2-2-14-10॥
