न बभूव मुनेश्चेतो विकृतं मुनिसत्तमाः ॥ भ्रष्टो बभूव तद्गर्वो महेशानुग्रहेण ह ॥ १६ ॥

sanskrit

O great sages, the mind of the sage (Nārada) did not waver. Only the arrogance of these fellows suffered a setback and that too by the favour of Maheśa.

english translation

na babhUva munezceto vikRtaM munisattamAH ॥ bhraSTo babhUva tadgarvo mahezAnugraheNa ha ॥ 16 ॥
