यतः क्रतुभुजो देवाः क्रतवो वेदसंभवाः।। ते वेदा ब्राह्मणाधारास्ततो देवबलं द्विजाः।।९।।

sanskrit

Since the gods maintain themselves on sacrifices, sacrifices are born of the Vedas and the Vedas are the custody of the brāhmaṇas, so the brāhmaṇas constitute the strength of the gods.

english translation

yataH kratubhujo devAH kratavo vedasaMbhavAH|| te vedA brAhmaNAdhArAstato devabalaM dvijAH||9||
