प्रद्युम्नो युयुधानश्च गतस्सांबोथ सारणः ॥ नंदोपनंदभद्राद्या रामकृष्णानुवर्तिनः ॥ ६ ॥
Pradyumna, Yuyudhāna, Sāmba, Sāraṇa, Nanda, Upananda, Bhadra and others following Rāma and Kṛṣṇa went there.

अक्षौहिणीभिर्द्वादशभिस्समेतासर्वतो दिशम् ॥ रुरुधुर्बाणनगरं समंतात्सात्वतर्षभाः ॥ ७ ॥
They were accompanied by twelve Akṣauhiṇīs. They, the chief of Sātvatas laid a siege all round the city of Bāṇa.

भज्यमानपुरोद्यानप्राकाराट्टालगोपुरम् ॥ वीक्ष्यमाणो रुषाविष्टस्तुल्यसैन्योभिनिर्ययौ ॥८॥
On seeing the parks, fortresses, ceilings and minarets of the city thus broken, Bāṇa became infuriated and set forth with an equal number of armies.

बाणार्थे भगवान् रुद्रस्ससुतः प्रमथैर्वृतः ॥ आरुह्य नन्दिवृषभं युद्धं कर्त्तुं समाययौ ॥ ९ ॥
In order to help Bāṇa, lord Rudra accompanied by his son and the Pramathas rode on the bull Nandin and arrived there to fight.

आसीत्सुतुमुलं युद्धमद्भुतं लोमहर्षणम् ॥ कृष्णादिकानां तैस्तत्र रुद्राद्यैर्बाणरक्षकैः ॥2-5-54-१०॥
A tumultuous fight, wonderfully causing horripilation ensued between Kṛṣṇa and his followers on the one hand and the supporters of Bāṇa, Rudra etc. on the other.
