ततः कोलाहलो जातः प्रमथासुरसैन्ययोः।। तेन शब्देन महता शुक्रश्शंभूदरे स्थ्ग्तिः।।३६।।

Then a great tumult arose in the midst of the armies of Pramathas and Asuras. At that great noise, Bhārgava who was within the belly of Śiva began to wander seeking an outlet like the unaboded wind.

tataH kolAhalo jAtaH pramathAsurasainyayoH|| tena zabdena mahatA zukrazzaMbhUdare sthgtiH||36||

छिद्रान्वेषी भ्रमन्सोथ विनिकेतो यथानिलः।। सप्तलोकान्सपातालान्रुद्रदेहे व्यलोकयत् ।। ३७ ।।

Then, like the wind, he wandered aimlessly, searching for an opening. He beheld the seven worlds and the netherworlds within Rudra’s body.

chidrAnveSI bhramansotha viniketo yathAnilaH|| saptalokAnsapAtAlAnrudradehe vyalokayat || 37 ||

ब्रह्मनारायणेन्द्राणां सादित्याप्सरसां तथा ।। भुवनानि विचित्राणि युद्धं च प्रमथासुरम् ।।३८।।

He saw the diverse worlds of Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Indra, Āditya and celestial damsels as well as the battle between the Pramathas and Asuras.

brahmanArAyaNendrANAM sAdityApsarasAM tathA || bhuvanAni vicitrANi yuddhaM ca pramathAsuram ||38||

स वर्षाणां शतं कुक्षौ भवस्य परितो भ्रमन् ।। न तस्य ददृशे रन्ध्रं शुचे रंध्रं खलो यथा ।। ३९ ।।

Wandering round and round in the belly of Śiva for a hundred years he failed to see any outlet as a wicked person fails to see a vulnerable point in a good person.

english translation

sa varSANAM zataM kukSau bhavasya parito bhraman || na tasya dadRze randhraM zuce raMdhraM khalo yathA || 39 ||

शांभवेनाथ योगेन शुक्ररूपेण भार्गवः ।। इमं मंत्रवरं जप्त्वा शंभोर्जठरपंजरात् ।। 2.5.48.४० ।।

Taking recourse to the Yoga of Śiva he repeated the following mantra and assumed the form of Śiva’s semen. He thus emerged out of the belly of Śiva through his penis.

zAMbhavenAtha yogena zukrarUpeNa bhArgavaH || imaM maMtravaraM japtvA zaMbhorjaTharapaMjarAt || 2.5.48.40 ||
