तथा प्रदर्श्याशु पुनः पुनश्च संपीड्यमानोपि स वीरकेण ।। बभूव कामाग्निसुदग्धदेहोंऽधको महादैत्यपतिः स मूढः ।।३।।

sanskrit

He exhibited the characteristic reactions of a moth approaching a lamp and glancing at it eagerly and lovingly. Already the burning fire of passion had scorched him and therefore afflicting hits from Vīraka had no effect on him.

english translation

tathA pradarzyAzu punaH punazca saMpIDyamAnopi sa vIrakeNa || babhUva kAmAgnisudagdhadehoM'dhako mahAdaityapatiH sa mUDhaH ||3||
