प्रस्तुतं शृणु निर्दुःखं शृणोति सुमना हरिः ॥ द्वयोस्सुखकरं यत्तद्ब्रवीमि सुखहेतवे ॥ ४१ ॥
Listen to what is relevant to the context to get rid of misery. Let Viṣṇu of good intentions too, listen. I shall mention what is beneficent to both and conducive to happiness.
english translation
तपस्त्वया कृतं भद्रे तस्यैव तपसः फलम् ॥ तदन्यथा कथं स्याद्वै जातं त्वयि तथा च तत् ॥ ४२ ॥
O gentle lady, penance had been performed by you. The fruit thereof has been attained now. How can it be otherwise?
english translation
इदं शरीरं त्यक्त्वा च दिव्यदेहं विधाय च॥ रमस्व हरिणा नित्यं रमया सदृशी भव ॥४३॥
Cast off this body. Take up a divine body and indulgence in dalliance with Viṣṇu for ever. Be equal unto Lakṣhmī.
english translation
तवेयं तनुरुत्सृष्टा नदीरूपा भवेदिह ॥ भारते पुण्यरूपा सा गण्डकीति च विश्रुता ॥४४॥
The body that you caste off shall become a river in Bharata. That will be a sacred river famous as Gaṇḍakī.
english translation
कियत्कालं महादेवि देवपूजनसाधने ॥ प्रधानरूपा तुलसी भविष्यति वरेण मे ॥ ४५ ॥
O great lady, as a boon granted by me, Tulasī (holy basil) will be the most important constituent of the materials of worship of the gods some time.
