सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ अथाकर्ण्य वचश्शंभुर्हरिविध्योस्सुदीनयोः ॥ उवाच विहसन्वाण्या मेघनादगभीरया ॥१॥
Sanatkumāra said: On hearing these words of the distressed Viṣṇu and Brahmā, Śiva laughingly spoke in the rumbling tone of the cloud.
english translation
शिव उवाच ॥ हे हरे वत्स हे ब्रह्मंस्त्यजतं सर्वशो भयम् ॥ शंखचूडोद्भवं भद्रं सम्भविष्यत्यसंशयम् ॥ २ ॥
Śiva said: O dear Viṣṇu, O Brahmā, cast off your fear from all sides. Certainly something good will result from the activities of Śaṅkhacūḍa.
english translation
शंखचूडस्य वृत्तांतं सर्वं जानामि तत्त्वतः ॥ कृष्णभक्तस्य गोपस्य सुदाम्नश्च पुरा प्रभो॥३॥
I know all the details of his activities factually as well as those of Sudāmā the cowherd devotee of Kṛṣṇa.
english translation
मदाज्ञया हृषीकेशो कृष्णरूपं विधाय च ॥ गोशालायां स्थितो रम्ये गोलोके मदधिष्ठिते॥४॥
At my bidding Viṣṇu has assumed the form of Kṛṣṇa and is stationed in the cowshed in the beautiful Goloka presided over by me.
english translation
स्वतंत्रोहमिति स्वं स मोहं मत्वा गतः पुरा ॥ क्रीडास्समकरोद्बह्वीस्स्वैरवर्तीव मोहितः ॥५॥
Considering himself independent under a delusion he indulged in many kinds of sportive dalliance like a deluded licentious person.
