ततो दैत्यस्समुत्पत्य गदापाणिस्त्वरान्वितः ॥ आहत्य गरुडं मूर्ध्नि पातयामास भूतले ॥ १६ ॥

Seizing the mace with his hand, the Asura jumped up quickly, hit Garuḍa on his head and felled him to the ground.

english translation

tato daityassamutpatya gadApANistvarAnvitaH ॥ Ahatya garuDaM mUrdhni pAtayAmAsa bhUtale ॥ 16 ॥
