पुनरायान्महावीरस्सिन्धुपुत्रो महाहवम्॥ जघानास्त्रैश्च विविधैस्सुरान्कृत्वा बलं महत् ॥ ५६ ॥
The great hero, the son of the ocean, took a vast army with him, came to the battle ground and began to kill the gods with various weapons.
english translation
punarAyAnmahAvIrassindhuputro mahAhavam॥ jaghAnAstraizca vividhaissurAnkRtvA balaM mahat ॥ 56 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ देवान्हतान्दृष्ट्वा द्रोणाद्रिमगमद्गुरुः ॥ तावत्तत्र गिरीद्रं तं न ददर्श सुरार्चितः ॥ ५७ ॥
On seeing the gods being killed Bṛhaspati went to the mountain Droṇa. Then he, the object of praise and worship by the gods, did not see the mountain there.
english translation
atha devAnhatAndRSTvA droNAdrimagamadguruH ॥ tAvattatra girIdraM taM na dadarza surArcitaH ॥ 57 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptज्ञात्वा दैत्यहृतं द्रोणं धिषणो भयविह्वलः ॥ आगत्य देवान्प्रोवाच जीवो व्याकुलमानसः ॥५८॥
On realising that the mountain Droṇa had been removed by the Asuras, Bṛhaspati was terrified. He returned and said dejectedly.
english translation
jJAtvA daityahRtaM droNaM dhiSaNo bhayavihvalaH ॥ Agatya devAnprovAca jIvo vyAkulamAnasaH ॥58॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगुरुरुवाच ॥ पलायध्वं सुरास्सर्वे द्रोणो नास्ति गिरिर्महान् ॥ ध्रुवं ध्वस्तश्च दैत्येन पाथोधितनयेन हि॥५९॥
Bṛhaspati said: O gods, run away, all of you. There is no trace of the great mountain Droṇa. Certainly it has been destroyed by the Asura, the son of the ocean.
english translation
gururuvAca ॥ palAyadhvaM surAssarve droNo nAsti girirmahAn ॥ dhruvaM dhvastazca daityena pAthodhitanayena hi॥59॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजलंधरो महादैत्यो नायं जेतुं क्षमो यतः ॥ रुद्रांशसंभवो ह्येष सर्वामरविमर्दनः ॥ 2-5-15-६० ॥
Jalandhara is a great Asura. He cannot be conquered since he is born of a part of Śiva. He will pound all the gods.

jalaMdharo mahAdaityo nAyaM jetuM kSamo yataH ॥ rudrAMzasaMbhavo hyeSa sarvAmaravimardanaH ॥ 2-5-15-60 ॥
