या लक्ष्मीस्तपसा तेषां लब्धा देवेश्वरादरात् ।। बहिर्गता परित्यज्य नियोगाद्ब्रह्मणः प्रभोः ।। 2.5.5.६० ।।

The glory that they had acquired by the boon of Brahmā, the lord of the gods, went out forsaking them, at the behest of Brahmā.

english translation

yA lakSmIstapasA teSAM labdhA devezvarAdarAt || bahirgatA parityajya niyogAdbrahmaNaH prabhoH || 2.5.5.60 ||
