इत्येवं तु वचः श्रुत्वा दैत्यराजस्य निर्मलम् ॥ प्रत्युवाच सुयत्नेन ऋषिस्स च सनातनः ॥ ५६ ॥
On hearing the frank words of the ruler of the Asuras the heretic sage, professing to be eternal, spoke emphatically.
english translation
ityevaM tu vacaH zrutvA daityarAjasya nirmalam ॥ pratyuvAca suyatnena RSissa ca sanAtanaH ॥ 56 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमदीया करणीया स्याद्यद्याज्ञा दैत्यसत्तम ॥ तदा देया मया दीक्षा नान्यथा कोटियत्नतः ॥ ५७ ॥
O excellent Asura, if you are prepared to act according to my behests, I shall initiate you, otherwise not, even if you strive for a number of times.
english translation
madIyA karaNIyA syAdyadyAjJA daityasattama ॥ tadA deyA mayA dIkSA nAnyathA koTiyatnataH ॥ 57 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्येवं तु वचः श्रुत्वा राजा मायामयोऽभवत् ॥ उवाच वचनं शीघ्रं यतिं तं हि कृतांजलिः ॥ ५८ ॥
On hearing these words the king was deluded by magic. With palms joined in reverence he immediately replied to the sage.
english translation
ityevaM tu vacaH zrutvA rAjA mAyAmayo'bhavat ॥ uvAca vacanaM zIghraM yatiM taM hi kRtAMjaliH ॥ 58 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदैत्य उवाच ॥ यथाज्ञां दास्यसि त्वं च तत्तथैव न चान्यथा ॥ त्वदाज्ञां नोल्लंघयिष्ये सत्यं सत्यं न संशयः ॥५९॥
The Asura said: I shall carry out whatever command you are pleased to give. I will not transgress your orders. True. It is certainly true.
english translation
daitya uvAca ॥ yathAjJAM dAsyasi tvaM ca tattathaiva na cAnyathA ॥ tvadAjJAM nollaMghayiSye satyaM satyaM na saMzayaH ॥59॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ इत्याकर्ण्य वचस्तस्य त्रिपुराधीशितुस्तदा ॥ दूरीकृत्य मुखाद्वस्त्रमुवाच ऋषिसत्तमः ॥ 2-5-4-६० ॥
Sanatkumāra said: On hearing the words of the Tripura-ruler, the excellent sage removed the cloth from his mouth and said.
