अतस्ते शरणं याता दुःखिता हि विधे वयम् ॥ कुरु त्वं तद्वधोपायं सुखिनस्स्याम तद्यथा ॥ ६ ॥
Hence, O Brahmā, we are distressed and we seek refuge in you. Please plan out the way of their annihilation whereby we can be happy.
english translation
॥ सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ इति विज्ञापितो देवैर्विहस्य भवकृद्विधिः ॥ प्रत्युवाचाथ तान्सर्वान्मयतो भीतमानसान् ॥ ७ ॥
Sanatkumāra said: Requested thus by the gods, Brahmā, the creator of the worlds laughed and replied to them all who were utterly frightened of Maya.
english translation
ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ न भेतव्यं सुरास्तेभ्यो दानवेभ्यो विशेषतः ॥ आचक्षे तद्वधोपायं शिवं शर्वः करिष्यति ॥ ८ ॥
Brahmā said: O gods, I tell you, do not be afraid at all of those Asuras. Śiva will hit upon a good way of killing them.
english translation
मत्तो विवर्धितो दैत्यो वधं मत्तो न चार्हति ॥ तथापि पुण्यं वर्द्धैत नगरे त्रिपुरे पुनः ॥ ९ ॥
The Asuras have flourished due to my favour. They do not deserve destruction at my hands. Their merit is bound to increase in the three citiesagain.
english translation
शिवं च प्रार्थयध्वं वै सर्वे देवास्सवासवाः ॥ सर्वाधीशः प्रसन्नश्चेत्स वः कार्यं करिष्यति ॥ 2-5-2-१० ॥
All of you gods including Indra pray to Śiva. If the lord of all is pleased, he will carry out your task.
