तत्किंचिन्मरणे हेतुं वृणीध्वं सत्त्वमाश्रिताः ॥ येन मृत्युर्नैव वृतो रक्षतस्तत्पृथक् पृथक् ॥४१॥
Hence choose a boon whereby you shall do something equal to your own strength.
english translation
tatkiMcinmaraNe hetuM vRNIdhvaM sattvamAzritAH ॥ yena mRtyurnaiva vRto rakSatastatpRthak pRthak ॥41॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ एतद्विधिवचः श्रुत्वा मुहूर्त्तं ध्यानमास्थिताः ॥ प्रोचुस्ते चिंतयित्वाथ सर्वलोकपितामहम् ॥४२॥
Sanatkumāra said: On hearing the words of Brahmā, they thought for a while and then replied to the grandfather of all the worlds.
english translation
sanatkumAra uvAca ॥ etadvidhivacaH zrutvA muhUrttaM dhyAnamAsthitAH ॥ procuste ciMtayitvAtha sarvalokapitAmaham ॥42॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदैत्या ऊचुः॥ भगवन्नास्ति नो वेश्म पराक्रमवतामपि ॥ अधृष्याः शात्रवानां तु यन्न वत्स्यामहे सुखम् ॥ ४३ ॥
The Asuras said: O lord, we have no mansion where we can stay happily although we are valorous and invincible to our enemies.
english translation
daityA UcuH॥ bhagavannAsti no vezma parAkramavatAmapi ॥ adhRSyAH zAtravAnAM tu yanna vatsyAmahe sukham ॥ 43 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुराणि त्रीणि नो देहि निर्मायात्यद्भुतानि हि ॥ सर्वसंपत्समृद्धान्य प्रधृष्याणि दिवौकसाम्॥४४॥
Build and give us three wonderful cities richly endowed with wealth and unassailable even to the gods.
english translation
purANi trINi no dehi nirmAyAtyadbhutAni hi ॥ sarvasaMpatsamRddhAnya pradhRSyANi divaukasAm॥44॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवयं पुराणि त्रीण्येव समास्थाय महीमिमाम्॥ चरिष्यामो हि लोकेश त्वत्प्रसादाज्जगद्गुरो ॥ ४५ ॥
O Preceptor of the universe, Lord of the worlds, by your grace we shall move about on the earth occupying these cities.

vayaM purANi trINyeva samAsthAya mahImimAm॥ cariSyAmo hi lokeza tvatprasAdAjjagadguro ॥ 45 ॥
