दूर्वाभिः पूजनं कार्यमुपवासस्तथाविधः ॥ रात्रेश्च प्रहरे जाते स्नात्वा संपूजयेन्नरः ॥४१ ॥
He shall perform worship with the Dūrvā grass and observe fast. After a Prahara has elapsed in the night the devotee shall take bath and worship.
english translation
मूर्तिं धातुमयीं कृत्वा प्रवालसंभवां तथा ॥ श्वेतार्कसंभवां चापि मार्द्दिकां निर्मितां तथा॥४२॥
The idol shall be made of metal, coral, white Arka flowers or clay. It shall be installed and worshipped by the devotee with all purity, with scents of various kinds, divine sandal paste and flowers.
english translation
प्रतिष्ठाप्य तदा तत्र पूजयेत्प्रयतः पुमान् ॥ गंधैर्नानाविधैर्दिव्यैश्चन्दनैः पुष्पकैरिह ॥४३॥
Having installed (the deity) there, a devoted man should worship with concentration, using various kinds of divine fragrances, sandalwood, and flowers here.
english translation
वितस्तिमात्रा दूर्वा च व्यंगा वै मूलवर्जिता ॥ ईदृशानां तद्बलानां शतेनैकोत्तरेण ह ॥ ४४ ॥
A handful of Dūrvā grass having three knots and without roots shall be used for worship. The shoots shall be hundred and one in number.
english translation
एकविंशतिकेनैव पूजयेत्प्रतिमां स्थिताम् ॥ धूपैर्दीपैश्च नैवेद्यैर्विविधैर्गणनायकम् ॥ ४५ ॥
With twentyone the idol shall be worshipped. Gaṇeśa shall be adored with incense, lamps and different kinds of food-offerings.
