प्रथमे च तथा यामे गिरिजायास्सुचेतसः ॥ आविर्बभूव ते रूपं यस्मात्ते व्रतमुत्तमम् ।३६॥
Since your form manifested itself from the good mind of Pārvatī, your excellent Vrata shall be performed on that Tithi itself or beginning from that day.
english translation
prathame ca tathA yAme girijAyAssucetasaH ॥ AvirbabhUva te rUpaM yasmAtte vratamuttamam ।36॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मात्तद्दिनमारभ्य तस्यामेव तिथौ मुदा ॥ व्रतं कार्यं विशेषेण सर्वसिद्ध्यै सुशोभनम् ॥ ३७ ॥
It will be very auspicious and conducive to the achievement of all Siddhis.
english translation
tasmAttaddinamArabhya tasyAmeva tithau mudA ॥ vrataM kAryaM vizeSeNa sarvasiddhyai suzobhanam ॥ 37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयावत्पुनस्समायाति वर्षान्ते च चतुर्थिका ॥ तावद्व्रतं च कर्तव्यं तव चैव ममाज्ञया ॥३८॥
At the bidding of us both the Vrata shall be performed till the fourth day at the end of a year.

yAvatpunassamAyAti varSAnte ca caturthikA ॥ tAvadvrataM ca kartavyaM tava caiva mamAjJayA ॥38॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसंसारे सुखमिच्छन्ति येऽतुलं चाप्यनेकशः ॥ त्वां पूजयन्तु ते भक्त्या चतुर्थ्यां विधिपूर्वकम् ॥३९॥
Let those who yearn for unequalled happiness in the world worship you devoutly in various ways on the fourth day in accordance with the rules.

saMsAre sukhamicchanti ye'tulaM cApyanekazaH ॥ tvAM pUjayantu te bhaktyA caturthyAM vidhipUrvakam ॥39॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमार्गशीर्षे तथा मासे रमा या वै चतुर्थिका ॥ प्रातःस्नानं तदा कृत्वा व्रतं विप्रान्निवेदयेत ॥2-4-18-४०॥
On the fourth day of Lakṣmī in the month of Mārgaśīrṣa he shall perform early morning ablution and entrust the Vrata to the brahmins.

mArgazIrSe tathA mAse ramA yA vai caturthikA ॥ prAtaHsnAnaM tadA kRtvA vrataM viprAnnivedayeta ॥2-4-18-40॥
