इत्याकर्ण्य वचस्तस्य गिरिजातनयस्य हि ॥ परस्परमथोचुस्ते शंकरस्य गणास्तदा ॥ २१ ॥
On hearing these words of Geṇeśa, the Gaṇas of Śiva spoke to one another.
english translation
ityAkarNya vacastasya girijAtanayasya hi ॥ parasparamathocuste zaMkarasya gaNAstadA ॥ 21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिवगणा ऊचुः ॥ किं कर्तव्यं क्व गंतव्यं माक्रियते स न किं पुनः ॥ मर्यादा रक्ष्यतेऽस्माभिरन्यथा किं ब्रवीति च ॥ २२ ॥
Śiva’s Gaṇas said: What shall be done? Where shall we go? Why shall we not act? Bounds of decency are observed by us. He would not have acted thus, otherwise.
english translation
zivagaNA UcuH ॥ kiM kartavyaM kva gaMtavyaM mAkriyate sa na kiM punaH ॥ maryAdA rakSyate'smAbhiranyathA kiM bravIti ca ॥ 22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मोवाच ॥ ततश्शंभुगणास्सर्वे शिवं दूरे व्यवस्थितम् ॥ क्रोशमात्रं तु कैलासाद्गत्वा ते च तथाब्रुवन् ॥ २३ ॥
Brahmā said: Then the Gaṇas of Śiva went to Śiva who was standing at the distance of a Krośa from Kailāsa and spoke to him.
english translation
brahmovAca ॥ tatazzaMbhugaNAssarve zivaM dUre vyavasthitam ॥ krozamAtraM tu kailAsAdgatvA te ca tathAbruvan ॥ 23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिवो विहस्य तान्सर्वांस्त्रिशूलकर उग्रधीः ॥ उवाच परमेशो हि स्वगणान् वीरसंमतान् ॥ २४ ॥
Śiva ridiculed them all. The trident-armed great lord of fierce temperament spoke to his Gaṇas who professed to be heroes.
english translation
zivo vihasya tAnsarvAMstrizUlakara ugradhIH ॥ uvAca paramezo hi svagaNAn vIrasaMmatAn ॥ 24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिव उवाच ॥ रेरे गणाः क्लीबमता न वीरा वीरमानिनः ॥ मदग्रे नोदितुं योग्या भर्त्सितः किं पुनर्वदेत् ॥ २५ ॥
Śiva said: Hello, Gaṇas, impotent wretches, you profess to be heroic but are never so. You are unfit to stand before me and speak. If he is only taunted he will speak in similar tone again.

ziva uvAca ॥ rere gaNAH klIbamatA na vIrA vIramAninaH ॥ madagre nodituM yogyA bhartsitaH kiM punarvadet ॥ 25 ॥
