केचिज्जाताः कुमारस्य शरणं शरणार्थिनः ॥ वदन्तः पाहि पाहीति दैत्याः सांजलयस्तदा ॥३६॥
Some of the Asuras shrieking “O save O save” with palms joined in reverence sought refuge in Kumāra.
english translation
kecijjAtAH kumArasya zaraNaM zaraNArthinaH ॥ vadantaH pAhi pAhIti daityAH sAMjalayastadA ॥36॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकियंतश्च हतास्तत्र कियंतश्च पलायिताः ॥ पलायमाना व्यथिता स्ताडिता निर्ज्जरैर्गणैः ॥३७॥
Numberless Asuras were killed. Many fled. The fleeing Asuras were beaten and harassed by the gods and the Gaṇas.
english translation
kiyaMtazca hatAstatra kiyaMtazca palAyitAH ॥ palAyamAnA vyathitA stADitA nirjjarairgaNaiH ॥37॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसहस्रशः प्रविष्टास्ते पाताले च जिजीषवः॥ पलायमानास्ते सर्वे भग्नाशा दैन्यमागताः ॥३८॥
Thousands of them fled to Pātāla for their life. Those who tried to flee were disappointed and put to distress.

sahasrazaH praviSTAste pAtAle ca jijISavaH॥ palAyamAnAste sarve bhagnAzA dainyamAgatAH ॥38॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं सर्वं दैत्यसैन्यं भ्रष्टं जातं मुनीश्वर ॥ न केचित्तत्र संतस्थुर्गणदेवभयात्तदा ॥३९॥
O great sage, thus the entire army of the Asuras disappeared. None dared to remain there for fear of the gods and the Gaṇas.
english translation
evaM sarvaM daityasainyaM bhraSTaM jAtaM munIzvara ॥ na kecittatra saMtasthurgaNadevabhayAttadA ॥39॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआसीन्निष्कंटकं सर्वं हते तस्मिन्दुरात्मनि॥ ते देवाः सुखमापन्नास्सर्वे शक्रादयस्तदा ॥2-4-10-४०॥
When the wicked Asura was killed, the whole universe became freed of thorns, freed from the danger and nuisance of the Asuras. Indra and other gods became happy.

AsInniSkaMTakaM sarvaM hate tasmindurAtmani॥ te devAH sukhamApannAssarve zakrAdayastadA ॥2-4-10-40॥
