भूमिस्तदक्षिपद्वह्नौ वह्निश्चाद्रौ स भूधरः ।। गंगायां सोऽक्षिपद्वेगात् तरंगैश्शरकानने ।। ५१ ।।

sanskrit

The earth dropped it into the fire, the fire on the mountain, the mountain in the Gaṅgā and the Gaṅgā transmitted it to the grove of Sara plants by her following currents and waves.

english translation

bhUmistadakSipadvahnau vahnizcAdrau sa bhUdharaH || gaMgAyAM so'kSipadvegAt taraMgaizzarakAnane || 51 ||

तत्र बालोऽभवस्त्वं हि देवकार्यकृति प्रभुः ।। तत्र लब्धः कृत्तिकाभिस्त्वं भूमिं गच्छ सांप्रतम् ।। ५२ ।।

sanskrit

There you developed into a boy, the lord with the mission of fulfilling the task of the gods. There you were picked up by the Kṛttikas. Now you shall come down to the Earth.

english translation

tatra bAlo'bhavastvaM hi devakAryakRti prabhuH || tatra labdhaH kRttikAbhistvaM bhUmiM gaccha sAMpratam || 52 ||

तवाभिषेकं शंभुस्तु करिष्यति सुरैस्सह ।। लप्स्यसे सर्वशस्त्राणि तारकाख्यं हनिष्यसि ।। ५३ ।।

Śiva will be crowning you in the company of the gods. You will get miraculous weapons and will slay the demon Tāraka.

tavAbhiSekaM zaMbhustu kariSyati suraissaha || lapsyase sarvazastrANi tArakAkhyaM haniSyasi || 53 ||

पुत्रस्त्वं विश्वसंहर्त्तुस्त्वां प्राप्तुञ्चाऽक्षमा इमाः ।। नाग्निं गोप्तुं यथा शक्तश्शुष्कवृक्षस्स्व कोटरे ।। ५४ ।।

sanskrit

You are the son of the annihilator of the universe and these (Kṛttikas) are impatient to gain possession of you as the dry tree tries to conceal fire within its hollow though it is incapable of holding it.

english translation

putrastvaM vizvasaMharttustvAM prAptuJcA'kSamA imAH || nAgniM goptuM yathA zaktazzuSkavRkSassva koTare || 54 ||

दीप्तवांस्त्वं च विश्वेषु नासां गेहेषु शोभसे ।। यथा पतन्महाकूपे द्विजराजो न राजत ।। ५५ ।।

You are brilliant enough to illuminate the universe. You do not fit in well in this abode just as a majestic elephant fallen in a deep well does not retain splendour.
