तारः पतिश्श्रुतिर्नारी क्षमा सा स स्वयन्तपः ।। फलम्पतिः सत्क्रिया सा धन्यौ तौ दम्पती शिवे ।।2.3.54.७०।।

The husband is the high tone and the wife is the quarter tone. The husband is austerity and the woman is forbearance. The husband is the fruit and the wife is a sacred rite. O Pārvatī, such a pair is blessed.

english translation

tAraH patizzrutirnArI kSamA sA sa svayantapaH || phalampatiH satkriyA sA dhanyau tau dampatI zive ||2.3.54.70||
