ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ अथ विष्ण्वादयो देवा मुनयश्च तपोधनाः ॥ कृत्वावश्यककर्माणि यात्रां सन्तेनिरे गिरेः ॥१॥
Brahmā said: Then Viṣṇu and other gods, the sages and ascetics sent message to the mountain about their intention to leave after finishing their immediate duties.
english translation
brahmovAca ॥ atha viSNvAdayo devA munayazca tapodhanAH ॥ kRtvAvazyakakarmANi yAtrAM santenire gireH ॥1॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो गिरिवरः स्नात्वा स्वेष्टं सम्पूज्य यत्नतः ॥ पौरबन्धून्समाहूय जनवासं ययौ मुदा ॥ २ ॥
Then the lord of mountains finished his ceremonial ablution and the worship of his favourite deity. Calling his kinsmen in the city, he came to the audience hall joyously.
english translation
tato girivaraH snAtvA sveSTaM sampUjya yatnataH ॥ paurabandhUnsamAhUya janavAsaM yayau mudA ॥ 2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्र प्रभुम्प्रपूज्याथ चक्रे सम्प्रार्थनां मुदा ॥ कियद्दिनानि सन्तिष्ठ मद्गेहे सकलैस्सह ॥ ३ ॥
There he worshipped the lord with pleasure and requested him to stay in his house for a few days more along with all the people.
english translation
tatra prabhumprapUjyAtha cakre samprArthanAM mudA ॥ kiyaddinAni santiSTha madgehe sakalaissaha ॥ 3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविलोकनेन ते शम्भो कृतार्थोहं न संशयः ॥ धन्यश्च यस्य मद्गेहे आयातोऽसि सुरैस्सह ॥ ४ ॥
“O Śiva” he said “I am contented by your sight. I am blessed since you came here with the gods”.
english translation
vilokanena te zambho kRtArthohaM na saMzayaH ॥ dhanyazca yasya madgehe AyAto'si suraissaha ॥ 4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्युक्त्वा बहु शैलेशः करौ बद्ध्वा प्रणम्य च ॥ प्रभुन्निमन्त्रयामास सह विष्णुसुरादिभिः ॥५॥
Saying these words and many more, the lord of mountains pleaded with palms joined in reverence to the lord along with Viṣṇu and other gods.
