कृतार्थाभूच्छिवं देवं तुष्टाव च कृताञ्जलिः ॥ प्राणनाथप्रदं पत्या जीवितेन पुनःपुनः ॥१६॥
She became contented. With her husband resuscitated and with palms joined in reverence she eulogised the lord, the bestower of her husband, frequently.
english translation
कामस्य स्तुतिमाकर्ण्य सनारीकस्य शङ्करः ॥ प्रसन्नोऽभवदत्यंतमुवाच करुणार्द्रधीः ॥ १७ ॥
On hearing the eulogy of Kāma and his wife, Śiva was delighted and he spoke with his heart melting with pity.
english translation
शङ्कर उवाच ॥ प्रसन्नोहं तव स्तुत्या सनारीकस्य चित्तज ॥ स्वयंभव वरम्बूहि वाञ्छितं तद्ददामि ते ॥ १८ ॥
Śiva said: O Kāma, I am delighted by your eulogy in the company of your wife. O self-born, tell me the boon you desire. I shall grant it.
english translation
ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इति शम्भुवचः श्रुत्वा महानदन्स्स्मरस्ततः ॥ उवाच साञ्जलिर्नम्रो गद्गदाक्षरया गिरा ॥ १९ ॥
Brahmā said: On hearing these words of Śiva, Kāma was highly delighted. Humbly and in faltering accents he spoke with palms joined in reverence.
english translation
॥ काम उवाच ॥ देवदेव महादेव करुणासागर प्रभो ॥ यदि प्रसन्नस्सर्वेशः ममानन्दकरो भव ॥ 2-3-51-२० ॥
Kāma said: O lord of gods, O ocean of mercy, if you, the lord of all, are pleased with me please be delightful to me.
