प्रणवेनैव मंत्रेण पूजयेल्लिंगमूर्द्धनि ॥ धूपैर्दीपैश्च नैवैद्यैस्ताम्बूलैः सुन्दरैस्तथा ॥ 2.1.11.७० ॥

By the sacred syllable 'Om' and the proper chanting of the mantras, one should worship the Shiva-linga, placed on the head. Offerings of incense, lights, food, and betel leaves should be made, all beautifully arranged.
