एतस्मिन्नंतरे तत्र हरिब्रह्मादयः सुराः ।। शिवाविर्भावमाज्ञाय ययुर्हर्षसमन्विताः ।। २६।।

In the meantime, coming to know of the manifestation of Śiva, Viṣṇu, Brahmā and other gods came there with great delight.

etasminnaMtare tatra haribrahmAdayaH surAH || zivAvirbhAvamAjJAya yayurharSasamanvitAH || 26||

शिवं प्रणम्य सुप्रीत्या समानर्चुश्च तेऽखिलाः ।। तुष्टुवुर्नतका विप्राः करौ बद्ध्वा सुचेतसः ।। २७ ।।

O brahmins, bowing down with great pleasure to śiva they all worshipped him. Joining their palms and bending down they eulogised him attentively.

english translation

zivaM praNamya suprItyA samAnarcuzca te'khilAH || tuSTuvurnatakA viprAH karau baddhvA sucetasaH || 27 ||

एतस्मिन्समये गंगा साध्वी तां स्वर्धुनी जगौ।। ऋषिकां सुप्रसन्नात्मा प्रशंसन्तो च तीद्विधिम् ।। २८।।

In the meantime, Gaṅgā the celestial river, with delighted mind, praised her rites and spoke to that chaste lady Ṛṣīkā.

etasminsamaye gaMgA sAdhvI tAM svardhunI jagau|| RSikAM suprasannAtmA prazaMsanto ca tIdvidhim || 28||

गंगोवाच।। ममार्थे चैव वैशाखे मासि देयं त्वया वचः ।। स्थित्यर्थं दिनमेकं मे सामीप्यं कार्य्यमेव हि।। २९।।

Gaṅgā said:— For my sake you should make a verbal promise You should stay with me for a day in the month of Vaiśākha.

english translation

gaMgovAca|| mamArthe caiva vaizAkhe mAsi deyaM tvayA vacaH || sthityarthaM dinamekaM me sAmIpyaM kAryyameva hi|| 29||

सूत उवाच।। गंगावचनमाकर्ण्य सा साध्वी प्राह सुव्रता।। तथास्त्विति वचः प्रीत्या लोकानां हितहेतवे ।। ३० ।।

Sūta said:— On hearing the words of Gaṅgā, the chaste lady of good rices consented with pleasure for the benefit of the world.
