कदापि कर्मणो नाशः कदा भोगः प्रजायते।। तस्माच्च पुनरेवं त्वं कर्म मा कर्तुमुद्यता ।। २६।।

Some time the action is destroyed, some time the action results. That is why you have begun to perform this misdeed.

english translation

kadApi karmaNo nAzaH kadA bhogaH prajAyate|| tasmAcca punarevaM tvaM karma mA kartumudyatA || 26||

अहं कुतस्ते पुत्रोद्य त्वं माता कुत एव च।। वृथाभिमानः पुत्रत्वे मातृत्वे च विचार्य्यताम्।। २७।।

Whence am I your son? Whence are you my mother? This fond consciousness of sonhood and motherhood is futile. Ponder.

ahaM kutaste putrodya tvaM mAtA kuta eva ca|| vRthAbhimAnaH putratve mAtRtve ca vicAryyatAm|| 27||

क्व माता क्व पिता विद्धि क्व स्वामी क्व कलत्रकम् ।। न कोऽपि कस्य चास्तीह सर्वेपि स्वकृतं भुजः ।। २८।।

Where is mother? Where is father? Where is husband? Where is wife? Know that none belongs to any one here. AH reap the fruits of their own actions.

english translation

kva mAtA kva pitA viddhi kva svAmI kva kalatrakam || na ko'pi kasya cAstIha sarvepi svakRtaM bhujaH || 28||

एवं ज्ञात्वा त्वया मातर्दुःखं त्याज्यं सुयत्नतः ।। सुभगाचरणं कार्यं परलोकसुखेप्सया।। २९।।

O mother, knowing thus you cast off your misery strenuously. If there is a desire for pleasure hereafter you shall do good deeds here.

english translation

evaM jJAtvA tvayA mAtarduHkhaM tyAjyaM suyatnataH || subhagAcaraNaM kAryaM paralokasukhepsayA|| 29||

गौरुवाच।। एवं जानाम्यहं पुत्र माया मां न जहात्यसौ।। त्वद्दुःखेन सुदुःखं मे तस्मै दास्ये तदेव हि ।। ३०।।

The Cow said:— O son, I know this but delusion does not forsake me. I am much distressed by your misery. I shall return tit for tat.

english translation

gauruvAca|| evaM jAnAmyahaM putra mAyA mAM na jahAtyasau|| tvadduHkhena suduHkhaM me tasmai dAsye tadeva hi || 30||
