बभ्राम सकलां पृथ्वीं तत्प्रीत्यै सुदृढव्रतः ।। तदप्राप्य विशुद्धात्मा नेत्रमेकमुदाहरत् ।। २२ ।।

In order to find it out he roamed over the world, steadily maintaining his sacred rite. But not finding the same, the pious Viṣṇu offered one of his eyes (instead of the lotus).

english translation

babhrAma sakalAM pRthvIM tatprItyai sudRDhavrataH || tadaprApya vizuddhAtmA netramekamudAharat || 22 ||
