जन्म सम्यगसम्यक् च न्यूनाधिक्ये भवेदिह ।। उभयोश्च क्षयो मुक्तिर्भवेत्सत्यं हि पार्वति ।। ४१ ।।

The birth will be good or evil in accordance with the predominance or deficiency of the one or the other. The annihilation of good and evil is liberation. This is the truth, O Pārvatī.

english translation

janma samyagasamyak ca nyUnAdhikye bhavediha || ubhayozca kSayo muktirbhavetsatyaM hi pArvati || 41 ||

कर्म च त्रिविधं प्रोक्तं कर्मकाण्डे महेश्वरि ।। संचितं क्रियमाणं च प्रारब्धं चेति बंधकृत् ।। ४२ ।।

O great goddess, the action that causes bondage is said to be threefold as mentioned in the Karmakāṇḍa section of the Vedas. It is (1) hoarded (Sañcita) (2) the current (Kriyamāṇa) and (3) that which has started yielding results (Prārabdha).

karma ca trividhaM proktaM karmakANDe mahezvari || saMcitaM kriyamANaM ca prArabdhaM ceti baMdhakRt || 42 ||

पूर्वजन्मसमुद्भूतं संचितं समुदाहृतम् ।। भुज्यते च शरीरेण प्रारब्धं परिकीर्तितम् ।। ४३ ।।

It is said to be accumulated from previous births. It is enjoyed by the body and is described as having been initiated.

pUrvajanmasamudbhUtaM saMcitaM samudAhRtam || bhujyate ca zarIreNa prArabdhaM parikIrtitam || 43 ||

जन्मना यच्च क्रियते कर्म सांप्रतम् ।। शुभाशुभं च देवेशि क्रियमाणं विदुर्बुधाः ।। ४४ ।।

And whatever action is performed by birth at present O goddess the wise know what is done good and evil.

janmanA yacca kriyate karma sAMpratam || zubhAzubhaM ca devezi kriyamANaM vidurbudhAH || 44 ||

प्रारब्धकर्मणो भोगात्क्षयश्चैव चान्यथा ।। उपायेन द्वयोर्नाशः कर्मणोः पूजनादिना ।। ४५ ।।

The annihilation of the Prārabdha Karman is only through enjoyment and not otherwise. The destruction of the other two types of action is possible through worship alone.
