देवाश्च पीडितास्तेन सशक्रा ऋषयस्तथा ॥ अत्यन्तं दुःखमापन्ना लोकान्निस्सारिता द्विजाः ॥ ५१ ॥
The gods including Indra were harassed by him. The sages were subjected to misery, Brahmins were ousted from the world.
english translation
devAzca pIDitAstena sazakrA RSayastathA ॥ atyantaM duHkhamApannA lokAnnissAritA dvijAH ॥ 51 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते ततो विकलास्सर्वे सवासवसुरर्षयः ॥ ब्रह्मविष्णू पुरोधाय शंकरं शरणं ययुः ॥ ५२ ॥
Then the dejected gods and sages including Indra, with Brahmā and Viṣṇu at their head, sought refuge in Śiva.
english translation
te tato vikalAssarve savAsavasurarSayaH ॥ brahmaviSNU purodhAya zaMkaraM zaraNaM yayuH ॥ 52 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्तुत्वा स्तोत्रैरनेकैश्च शंकरं लोक शंकरम् ॥ प्रसन्नं कृतवंतस्ते महाकोश्यास्तटे शुभे ॥ ५३ ॥
On the auspicious banks of the Mahākośī they delighted Śiva, the benefactor of the worlds after eulogising him with various prayers.
english translation
stutvA stotrairanekaizca zaMkaraM loka zaMkaram ॥ prasannaM kRtavaMtaste mahAkozyAstaTe zubhe ॥ 53 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकृत्वा च पार्थिवीं मूर्तिं पूजयित्वा विधानतः ॥ तुष्टुवुर्विविधैः स्तोत्रैर्नमस्कारादिभिः क्रमात् ॥ ५४ ॥
They made the earthen idol and performed worship in accordance with the rules and eulogised him with different prayers and obeisances duly.
english translation
kRtvA ca pArthivIM mUrtiM pUjayitvA vidhAnataH ॥ tuSTuvurvividhaiH stotrairnamaskArAdibhiH kramAt ॥ 54 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं स्तुतस्तदा शंभुर्देवानां स्तवनादिभिः ॥ सुप्रसन्नतरो भूत्वा तान्सुरानिदमब्रवीत् ॥ ५५ ॥
Thus eulogised by means of prayers, by the gods, Śiva was much delighted and spoke to the gods.

evaM stutastadA zaMbhurdevAnAM stavanAdibhiH ॥ suprasannataro bhUtvA tAnsurAnidamabravIt ॥ 55 ॥
