साऽहमेकाकिनी जाता दुःखिता पर्वते पुरा॥ निवसामि स्म दुःखार्ता निरालंबा निराश्रया॥ १६॥
That was why I happened to be alone on this mountain, miserable and helpless.

एतस्मिन्समये ह्यत्र राक्षसो रावणानुजः॥ आगत्य कृतवान्संगं मां विहाय गतो हि सः॥ १७॥
It was during this period that Kumbhakarṇa the younger brother of Rāvaṇa came here and had his sexual intercourse with me. He left me alone and went away.

ततस्त्वं च समुत्पन्नो महाबलपराक्रमः॥ अवलंब्य पुनस्त्वां च कालक्षेपं करोम्यहम्॥ १७॥
You were born after that. You have great strength and exploit. Depending on you I spend my days here.

पितानेन हतो मे हि तथा मातामहो ह्यपि॥ विराधश्च हतोऽनेन दुःखं बहुतरं कृतम्॥ २० ॥
My father was killed by him and so my grand parents. Virādha too was killed by him. Many miseries have been inflicted on us.
