सूत उवाच ।। इत्युक्तस्तैश्शिवस्तत्र तस्थौ गर्ते सुशोभने ।। भक्तानां चैव रक्षार्थं दत्त्वा तेभ्यश्च सद्गतिम् ।। ४८।।

Sūta said:— Requested thus, Śiva remained in that auspicious chasm for the protection of his devotees after granting them the goal of the good.

english translation

sUta uvAca || ityuktastaizzivastatra tasthau garte suzobhane || bhaktAnAM caiva rakSArthaM dattvA tebhyazca sadgatim || 48||
