प्रभासं च परिक्रम्य पृथिवीक्रमसंभवम् ।। फलं प्राप्नोति शुद्धात्मा मृतः स्वर्गे महीयते ।। ५६।।

A pious man attains the fruit of circumambulating the earth, if he circumambulates Prabhāsa. After death he is honoured in heaven by the gods.

english translation

prabhAsaM ca parikramya pRthivIkramasaMbhavam || phalaM prApnoti zuddhAtmA mRtaH svarge mahIyate || 56||

सोमलिंगं नरो दृष्ट्वा सर्वपापात्प्रमुच्यते ।। लब्ध्वा फलं मनोभीष्टं मृतस्स्वर्गं समीहते ।। ५७ ।।

On seeing this Somaliṅga a person is relieved of all sins. After enjoying the fruits as desired, he attains heaven after death.

english translation

somaliMgaM naro dRSTvA sarvapApAtpramucyate || labdhvA phalaM manobhISTaM mRtassvargaM samIhate || 57 ||

यद्यत्फलं समुद्दिश्य कुरुते तीर्थमुत्तमम्।। तत्तत्फलमवाप्नोति सर्वथा नात्र संशयः।। ५८।।

He who makes pilgrimage to this place attains the fruits of whatever he might have had in view. There is no doubt about this.

english translation

yadyatphalaM samuddizya kurute tIrthamuttamam|| tattatphalamavApnoti sarvathA nAtra saMzayaH|| 58||

इति ते ऋषयो देवाः फलं दृष्ट्वा तथाविधम् ।। मुदा शिवं नमस्कृत्य गृहीत्वा चन्द्रमक्षयम् ।। ५९ ।।

Thus the sages and gods saw the fruit in such a way. Happily bowing to Lord Shiva he took hold of the inexhaustible moon.

iti te RSayo devAH phalaM dRSTvA tathAvidham || mudA zivaM namaskRtya gRhItvA candramakSayam || 59 ||

परिक्रम्य च तत्तीर्थं प्रशंसन्तश्च ते ययुः ।। चंद्रश्चापि स्वकीयं च कार्य्यं चक्रे पुरातनम् ।। ६० ।।

They circumambulated that holy place and went away praising it The moon also performed his ancient duties.

english translation
