गृहीत्वा ते ततश्चन्द्रं दक्षं चाश्वास्य निर्जराः ।। प्रभासे ऋषयश्चक्रुस्तत्र गत्वाखिलाश्च वै ।। ३६ ।।

They then took hold of the moon and consoled Daksha and became free from old age. The sages performed the rituals at Prabhas and all the demigods went there.

आवाह्य तीर्थवर्याणि सरस्वत्यादिकानि च ।। पार्थिवेन तदा पूजां मृत्युञ्जयविधानतः ।। ३७।।

Invoking the best of holy places like Saraswati Then the king worshiped him in the manner prescribed for conquering death.

ते देवाश्च तदा सर्वे ऋषयो निर्मलाशयाः ।। स्थाप्य चन्द्रं प्रभासे च स्वंस्वं धाम ययुर्मुदा ।। ३८।।

The gods and the sages of pious mind left the moon at Prabhāsa anḍ joyously returned to their abodes.

te devAzca tadA sarve RSayo nirmalAzayAH || sthApya candraM prabhAse ca svaMsvaM dhAma yayurmudA || 38||

चन्द्रेण च तपस्तप्तं पण्मासं च निरंतरम् ।। मृत्युंजयेन मंत्रेण पूजितो वृषभध्वजः ।। ३९।।

The moon performed the penance incessantly for six months. He worshipped the bull-bannered deity with the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra.

दशकोटिमितं मन्त्रं समावृत्य शशी च तम् ।।। ध्यात्वा मृत्युञ्जयं मन्त्रं तस्थौ निश्चलमानसः ।। ४० ।।

The moon repeated the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra a hundred million times. He meditated on the lord Mṛtyuñjaya with his mind unruffled.
