स्थाप्य साधारकं तं तु प्रणवेनार्चयेत्ततः ॥ आपूर्य्य शुद्धतोयेन चन्दनादिसुगंधिना ॥ २ ॥

Placing the ordinary object one should then worship it with the oṁkāra. Fill it with pure water and fragrant sandalwood and other fragrances.

english translation

sthApya sAdhArakaM taM tu praNavenArcayettataH ॥ ApUryya zuddhatoyena candanAdisugaMdhinA ॥ 2 ॥
