सवितर्युदिते पश्चात्सावित्रीं प्राविशेत्क्रमात् ॥ एषणानां त्रयं त्यक्त्वा प्रेषमुच्चार्य च क्रमात् ॥ ५६ ॥
When the sun has arisen he shall recite Sāvitrī. He shall eschew the three Eṣaṇās and repeat the Preṣa mantras.
english translation
savitaryudite pazcAtsAvitrIM prAvizetkramAt ॥ eSaNAnAM trayaM tyaktvA preSamuccArya ca kramAt ॥ 56 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशिखोपवीते संत्यज्य कटिसूत्रादिकं ततः ॥ विसृज्य प्राङ्मुखो गच्छेदुत्तराशामुखोपि वा ॥ ५७ ॥
He shall abandon the tuft, the sacred thread and the girdle too. He shall start to the east or to the north.
english translation
zikhopavIte saMtyajya kaTisUtrAdikaM tataH ॥ visRjya prAGmukho gaccheduttarAzAmukhopi vA ॥ 57 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगृह्णीयाद्दण्डकौपीनाद्युचितं लोकवर्तने ॥ विरक्तश्चेन गृह्णीयाल्लोकवृत्तिविचारणे ॥ ५८ ॥
He shall lake with him a staff and a loin-cloth and such other things as are necessary for life. If he is totally detached he need not take these things too.
english translation
gRhNIyAddaNDakaupInAdyucitaM lokavartane ॥ viraktazcena gRhNIyAllokavRttivicAraNe ॥ 58 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगुरोः समीपं गत्वाथ दण्डवत्प्रणमेत्त्रयम् ॥ समुत्थाय ततस्तिष्ठेद्गुरुपादसमीपतः ॥ ५९ ॥
He shall approach the preceptor and prostrate before him thrice. Standing up he shall sit at the feet of the preceptor.
english translation
guroH samIpaM gatvAtha daNDavatpraNamettrayam ॥ samutthAya tatastiSThedgurupAdasamIpataH ॥ 59 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो गुरुः समादाय विरजानलजं शितम् ॥ भस्म तेनैव तं शिष्यं समुद्धृत्य यथाविधि ॥ ६० ॥
Then the preceptor took the cold fire of Viraja With the same ashes he lifted the disciple in accordance with the prescribed ritual.

tato guruH samAdAya virajAnalajaM zitam ॥ bhasma tenaiva taM ziSyaM samuddhRtya yathAvidhi ॥ 60 ॥
