कलादि पञ्चकेनैव भोक्तृत्वेन प्रकल्पितः ॥ प्रकृतिस्थः पुमानेष भुङ्क्ते प्रकृतिजान्गुणान् ॥ ६ ॥
He is conceived as the enjoyer through the set of five—Kalās etc. Thus the Puruṣa stationed in Prakṛti enjoys the Guṇas born of Prakṛti.

kalAdi paJcakenaiva bhoktRtvena prakalpitaH ॥ prakRtisthaH pumAneSa bhuGkte prakRtijAnguNAn ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति स्थानद्वयान्तस्थः पुरुषो न विरोधकः ॥ संकुचन्निजरूपाणां ज्ञानादीनां समष्टिमान् ॥ ७ ॥
The presence in two places of the Puruṣa is not incompatible. He is the composite of Jñana etc. of both shrinking and intrinsic forms.

iti sthAnadvayAntasthaH puruSo na virodhakaH ॥ saMkucannijarUpANAM jJAnAdInAM samaSTimAn ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसत्त्वादिगुणसाध्यं च बुध्यादित्रितयात्मकम्॥ चित्तम्प्रकृतितत्त्वं तदासीत्सत्त्वादिकारणात् ॥ ८ ॥
It is also achievable by the modes of Sattva and others and consists of the threefold intelligence and others. The mind was then the essence of nature because of the causes of Sattva and others.

sattvAdiguNasAdhyaM ca budhyAditritayAtmakam॥ cittamprakRtitattvaM tadAsItsattvAdikAraNAt ॥ 8 ॥

The modes of nature are produced by the distinction of the sattvic and others. Intelligence arises from the modes of nature and determines objects.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो महानहङ्कारस्ततो बुद्धीन्द्रियाणि च ॥ जातानि मनसो रूपं स्यात्संकल्पविकल्पकम् ॥ १० ॥
From Buddhi the principle of intellect is born and from it ego. From the ego the sense-organs of knowledge. The mind has two aspects—thought and doubt.
