ध॒र्ता दि॒वः प॑वते॒ कृत्व्यो॒ रसो॒ दक्षो॑ दे॒वाना॑मनु॒माद्यो॒ नृभि॑: । हरि॑: सृजा॒नो अत्यो॒ न सत्व॑भि॒र्वृथा॒ पाजां॑सि कृणुते न॒दीष्वा ॥ धर्ता दिवः पवते कृत्व्यो रसो दक्षो देवानामनुमाद्यो नृभिः । हरिः सृजानो अत्यो न सत्वभिर्वृथा पाजांसि कृणुते नदीष्वा ॥

sanskrit

(Soma) the sustainer (of all) flows from the firmament, the purifiable juice, the invigorator of the gods, worthy tobe praised by the priests; green-tinted like a horse let loose by the charioteers he easily restores his vigour in the waters.

english translation

dha॒rtA di॒vaH pa॑vate॒ kRtvyo॒ raso॒ dakSo॑ de॒vAnA॑manu॒mAdyo॒ nRbhi॑: | hari॑: sRjA॒no atyo॒ na satva॑bhi॒rvRthA॒ pAjAM॑si kRNute na॒dISvA || dhartA divaH pavate kRtvyo raso dakSo devAnAmanumAdyo nRbhiH | hariH sRjAno atyo na satvabhirvRthA pAjAMsi kRNute nadISvA ||

शूरो॒ न ध॑त्त॒ आयु॑धा॒ गभ॑स्त्यो॒: स्व१॒॑: सिषा॑सन्रथि॒रो गवि॑ष्टिषु । इन्द्र॑स्य॒ शुष्म॑मी॒रय॑न्नप॒स्युभि॒रिन्दु॑र्हिन्वा॒नो अ॑ज्यते मनी॒षिभि॑: ॥ शूरो न धत्त आयुधा गभस्त्योः स्वः सिषासन्रथिरो गविष्टिषु । इन्द्रस्य शुष्ममीरयन्नपस्युभिरिन्दुर्हिन्वानो अज्यते मनीषिभिः ॥

Like a hero he carries weapons in his hands, desirous of enjoying felicity, mounting his chariot in quest of the cattle (of the worshipper), animating the strength of Indra, Indu, urged by the wise performers of pious acts, is anointed (with the milk and curds).

english translation

zUro॒ na dha॑tta॒ Ayu॑dhA॒ gabha॑styo॒: sva1॒॑: siSA॑sanrathi॒ro gavi॑STiSu | indra॑sya॒ zuSma॑mI॒raya॑nnapa॒syubhi॒rindu॑rhinvA॒no a॑jyate manI॒Sibhi॑: || zUro na dhatta AyudhA gabhastyoH svaH siSAsanrathiro gaviSTiSu | indrasya zuSmamIrayannapasyubhirindurhinvAno ajyate manISibhiH ||

इन्द्र॑स्य सोम॒ पव॑मान ऊ॒र्मिणा॑ तवि॒ष्यमा॑णो ज॒ठरे॒ष्वा वि॑श । प्र ण॑: पिन्व वि॒द्युद॒भ्रेव॒ रोद॑सी धि॒या न वाजाँ॒ उप॑ मासि॒ शश्व॑तः ॥ इन्द्रस्य सोम पवमान ऊर्मिणा तविष्यमाणो जठरेष्वा विश । प्र णः पिन्व विद्युदभ्रेव रोदसी धिया न वाजाँ उप मासि शश्वतः ॥

sanskrit

Soma who are purified, who desire strength enter Indra's belly in a mighty stream; milk heaven and earth for us as lightning (milks) the clouds; now with the rite meter (unto us) abundant food.

english translation

indra॑sya soma॒ pava॑mAna U॒rmiNA॑ tavi॒SyamA॑No ja॒Thare॒SvA vi॑za | pra Na॑: pinva vi॒dyuda॒bhreva॒ roda॑sI dhi॒yA na vAjA~॒ upa॑ mAsi॒ zazva॑taH || indrasya soma pavamAna UrmiNA taviSyamANo jaThareSvA viza | pra NaH pinva vidyudabhreva rodasI dhiyA na vAjA~ upa mAsi zazvataH ||

विश्व॑स्य॒ राजा॑ पवते स्व॒र्दृश॑ ऋ॒तस्य॑ धी॒तिमृ॑षि॒षाळ॑वीवशत् । यः सूर्य॒स्यासि॑रेण मृ॒ज्यते॑ पि॒ता म॑ती॒नामस॑मष्टकाव्यः ॥ विश्वस्य राजा पवते स्वर्दृश ऋतस्य धीतिमृषिषाळवीवशत् । यः सूर्यस्यासिरेण मृज्यते पिता मतीनामसमष्टकाव्यः ॥

sanskrit

(Soma) the soverign of the universe flows forth; surpassing the ṛṣis he desire the worship of the all-seeing truthful (Indra); he who is cleansed by the ray of he sun, the father of praise, the unequalled sage.

english translation

vizva॑sya॒ rAjA॑ pavate sva॒rdRza॑ R॒tasya॑ dhI॒timR॑Si॒SALa॑vIvazat | yaH sUrya॒syAsi॑reNa mR॒jyate॑ pi॒tA ma॑tI॒nAmasa॑maSTakAvyaH || vizvasya rAjA pavate svardRza Rtasya dhItimRSiSALavIvazat | yaH sUryasyAsireNa mRjyate pitA matInAmasamaSTakAvyaH ||

वृषे॑व यू॒था परि॒ कोश॑मर्षस्य॒पामु॒पस्थे॑ वृष॒भः कनि॑क्रदत् । स इन्द्रा॑य पवसे मत्स॒रिन्त॑मो॒ यथा॒ जेषा॑म समि॒थे त्वोत॑यः ॥ वृषेव यूथा परि कोशमर्षस्यपामुपस्थे वृषभः कनिक्रदत् । स इन्द्राय पवसे मत्सरिन्तमो यथा जेषाम समिथे त्वोतयः ॥

As a bull (entering) the herd you rush to the receptacle, on the top of the waters, showering (benefits) crying aloud; you flow for Indra, most exhilarating so that we may be victorious in battle protected by you.

english translation
