म॒न्द्रस्य॑ रू॒पं वि॑विदुर्मनी॒षिण॑: श्ये॒नो यदन्धो॒ अभ॑रत्परा॒वत॑: । तं म॑र्जयन्त सु॒वृधं॑ न॒दीष्वाँ उ॒शन्त॑मं॒शुं प॑रि॒यन्त॑मृ॒ग्मिय॑म् ॥ मन्द्रस्य रूपं विविदुर्मनीषिणः श्येनो यदन्धो अभरत्परावतः । तं मर्जयन्त सुवृधं नदीष्वाँ उशन्तमंशुं परियन्तमृग्मियम् ॥

sanskrit

The wise (worshippers) know the form of the exhilarating Soma-juice, the food that the falcon brought from afar; they cleanse in the waters the fostering (Soma) delighting (the gods), flowing around, and deserving laudation.

english translation

ma॒ndrasya॑ rU॒paM vi॑vidurmanI॒SiNa॑: zye॒no yadandho॒ abha॑ratparA॒vata॑: | taM ma॑rjayanta su॒vRdhaM॑ na॒dISvA~ u॒zanta॑maM॒zuM pa॑ri॒yanta॑mR॒gmiya॑m || mandrasya rUpaM vividurmanISiNaH zyeno yadandho abharatparAvataH | taM marjayanta suvRdhaM nadISvA~ uzantamaMzuM pariyantamRgmiyam ||

त्वां मृ॑जन्ति॒ दश॒ योष॑णः सु॒तं सोम॒ ऋषि॑भिर्म॒तिभि॑र्धी॒तिभि॑र्हि॒तम् । अव्यो॒ वारे॑भिरु॒त दे॒वहू॑तिभि॒र्नृभि॑र्य॒तो वाज॒मा द॑र्षि सा॒तये॑ ॥ त्वां मृजन्ति दश योषणः सुतं सोम ऋषिभिर्मतिभिर्धीतिभिर्हितम् । अव्यो वारेभिरुत देवहूतिभिर्नृभिर्यतो वाजमा दर्षि सातये ॥

The ten fingers cleanse you, Soma, when effused and plural ced in the vessels by the ṛṣis, with praises, religious rites and woollen filters; and collected by the priests with oblations to the gods you bestow food (upon the worshippers) for a gift.

english translation

tvAM mR॑janti॒ daza॒ yoSa॑NaH su॒taM soma॒ RSi॑bhirma॒tibhi॑rdhI॒tibhi॑rhi॒tam | avyo॒ vAre॑bhiru॒ta de॒vahU॑tibhi॒rnRbhi॑rya॒to vAja॒mA da॑rSi sA॒taye॑ || tvAM mRjanti daza yoSaNaH sutaM soma RSibhirmatibhirdhItibhirhitam | avyo vArebhiruta devahUtibhirnRbhiryato vAjamA darSi sAtaye ||

प॒रि॒प्र॒यन्तं॑ व॒य्यं॑ सुषं॒सदं॒ सोमं॑ मनी॒षा अ॒भ्य॑नूषत॒ स्तुभ॑: । यो धार॑या॒ मधु॑माँ ऊ॒र्मिणा॑ दि॒व इय॑र्ति॒ वाचं॑ रयि॒षाळम॑र्त्यः ॥ परिप्रयन्तं वय्यं सुषंसदं सोमं मनीषा अभ्यनूषत स्तुभः । यो धारया मधुमाँ ऊर्मिणा दिव इयर्ति वाचं रयिषाळमर्त्यः ॥

Intelligent praises celebrate the wide-flowing (god) delighting Soma who sits in good company, who exhilarating (falls) in a stream with his water from the sky (and) wealth-conquering, immortal, sends out his voice.

english translation

अ॒यं दि॒व इ॑यर्ति॒ विश्व॒मा रज॒: सोम॑: पुना॒नः क॒लशे॑षु सीदति । अ॒द्भिर्गोभि॑र्मृज्यते॒ अद्रि॑भिः सु॒तः पु॑ना॒न इन्दु॒र्वरि॑वो विदत्प्रि॒यम् ॥ अयं दिव इयर्ति विश्वमा रजः सोमः पुनानः कलशेषु सीदति । अद्भिर्गोभिर्मृज्यते अद्रिभिः सुतः पुनान इन्दुर्वरिवो विदत्प्रियम् ॥

This Soma sends from heaven all water; bring filtered he settles in the vessels; effused with the stones, he is cleansed with water and milk; the filtered Indu bestow delightful wealth.

english translation

a॒yaM di॒va i॑yarti॒ vizva॒mA raja॒: soma॑: punA॒naH ka॒laze॑Su sIdati | a॒dbhirgobhi॑rmRjyate॒ adri॑bhiH su॒taH pu॑nA॒na indu॒rvari॑vo vidatpri॒yam || ayaM diva iyarti vizvamA rajaH somaH punAnaH kalazeSu sIdati | adbhirgobhirmRjyate adribhiH sutaH punAna indurvarivo vidatpriyam ||

ए॒वा न॑: सोम परिषि॒च्यमा॑नो॒ वयो॒ दध॑च्चि॒त्रत॑मं पवस्व । अ॒द्वे॒षे द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी हु॑वेम॒ देवा॑ ध॒त्त र॒यिम॒स्मे सु॒वीर॑म् ॥ एवा नः सोम परिषिच्यमानो वयो दधच्चित्रतमं पवस्व । अद्वेषे द्यावापृथिवी हुवेम देवा धत्त रयिमस्मे सुवीरम् ॥

Soma offering (wealth) as soon as you are sprinkled (with the water and milk), pour various kinds of food (upon us); let us invoke the friendly heaven and earth; do you, O gods, grant us wealth with excellent male offspring.

english translation
